Usually a 4-piece, sometimes a 5-piece and even a 6-piece band, Devri’s music is firmly based around the ballads, tunes & rousing folk music of Ireland, at a typical Devri show you will hear songs & tunes from The Pogues, Johnny Cash, The Dubliners, The Beatles, Snow Patrol, U2, Garth Brooks & The Wolfe Tones.
Instruments include Fiddle, Mandolin, Banjo, Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Bass, Whistles and Drums; we also can add Sax & piano if desired.
As a band Devri’s members can draw from their individual experiences of traveling & playing music throughout the States, Europe, China and Australia to get their audiences on their feet and dancing!
Devri’s 4 core members are: Declan Houton on vocals, guitar and mandolin, Larry Flint on vocals, bass and guitar, Chuck Parrish on guitar and Steve O’Callaghan on drums and percussion.
The band attributes their continued success to their fanatic audience, and it’s a well-diversified crowd for sure. The country-music folks adore the storytelling, the bluegrass-heads love the instrumentals, Celtic fans love their devotion to tradition, and the rockers simply relish the passion they play their instruments with. Each band member, in their own way, expresses a deep gratitude for their fans, but it’s best summed up in the words of Patrick Murphy: “The fans are the ones that have given us this life. We’re here for them.”
